How may I join in?
We are an open and welcoming group of people. You don't need to do anything to be part of our community, but if you want to be involved, whatever your gifts, there is a place for you.
Many of us in the Minster community take part in the regular Sunday services. It is in the relaxed moments at 11 am, following the Sunday Eucharist and before the 11.30 service, as we drink coffee or tea, that we make friends and catch up with their news, chat to the clergy and welcome visitors.
If your interests lead you into being a Minster guide or a bell ringer, an embroiderer or flower arranger, a server or a steward at Minster events, or just to enjoy a social event, there is a place for you.
There are over 500 volunteers active in the life of York Minster, in addition to the paid members of staff. Below are links to other pages on the York Minster website that give you more facts about this. Do come and join us. (photograph: Susan Mason)
