The Communications Team is responsible for media, marketing and publications at York Minster. We welcome media visits and are happy to arrange tours for accredited journalists writing or researching stories related to York Minster.
We will do our best to accommodate photographers and TV cameras at special events inside York Minster, so prior notice from media wishing to attend is appreciated wherever possible. More information about commercial filming and photography is available here.

Special information for media attending services and events at York Minster
Filming and photography at services and events at York Minster must be arranged in advance by contacting the Communications Team on 01904 559545 or 01904 557248. Photographers and film crews are asked to arrive prior to the start of service - late arrivals may not be admitted.
Filming and photography can only take place from static positions approved in advance by a member of the Communications Team (or Minster staff). Movement during a service is possible but must be agreed in advance with the Communications Team or Minster staff. Filming and photography must not impede or disrupt services, worshippers or visitors to the Minster. Filming and photography cannot take place during the distribution of Holy Communion. All live broadcasts or transmissions must be approved in advance with the Communications Team and will incur musicians fees.
Above all, York Minster is a place of worship. York Minster staff reserve the right to remove any media who are disrupting the service.
