York Minster's story of repair, restoration and conservation continues with the mighty South Quire Aisle
York Minster's magnificent East Front, which houses the Great East Window, has recently undergone a major programme of restoration and conservation, one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
Almost 60% of the cathedral's irreplaceable stained glass has no protective external glazing, leaving it exposed to the elements and subject to decay.
The cathedral has announced an innovative new partnership and fundraising initiative to give its world famous stained glass windows state-of-the-art protection for generations to come.
