York Minster is one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals, welcoming more than 700,000 people from across the globe in 2018. The cathedral is now looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to help promote its work in the role of Marketing and Communications Assistant.
Working as part of the Marketing and Communications Department, you will support the team in delivering a range of activity covering the full marketing communications mix.
This includes the delivery of campaigns to drive visitor footfall, event/service attendance and donations. The role includes supporting the team’s work with media and film companies to arrange interviews, filming and photo opportunities and liaising with external suppliers to commission design and print.
You will also help to produce written and visual content for the Minster’s digital channels and social media feeds and you will maintain, create and update content for the organisation’s intranet.

The successful candidate will join the team at an important time in the history of the cathedral – in 2020 the next Archbishop of York will be enthroned at the Minster, our once-a-century organ refurbishment project will be completed and we will continue our master-planning work to develop the Minster’s precinct.
