The Chapter of York are seeking a Research Co-ordinator to help inform the effective care, conservation and stewardship of York Minster, its buildings, site and collections.

The successful candidate will review existing research and ensure its accessibility and meaningful use, including in York Minster’s public access and engagement programmes.  The post holder will work with the Head of Collections and Interpretation and the Director of Works and Precinct to assist in identifying strategic research priorities.  They will scope and develop effective research partnerships and networks, building on the existing relationships with local universities, museums and heritage organisations.  They will identify opportunities for research at a variety of levels, internally and externally, including undergraduate, MA and doctoral dissertations, and work in partnership with HE institutions to bring these to fruition.

Research fields of interest and relevance to York Minster include history, art history, archaeology, STEM subjects, and materials and environmental science.
