We have more than you might think...
With a collection including silver, glass, stonework, archaeology, monuments, treasures and textiles our objects cover a period of over 2,000 years and tell hundreds of stories. Many are still used every day in York Minster.
We are working hard to share these objects with you. Click here to explore the online catalogue. Our collections and our catalogue are always growing, so please keep coming back.

When can I see more?
It takes a long time to get every record ready for the catalogue, so we are working on it in stages. At the moment you can explore the monuments, silver and furnishings collections. Treasures and Memorabilia are coming soon!
Using and interpreting the collection...
During this year's Visit York Resident's Festival the Old Palace invites you to explore the historic collections building and learn more about the objects and work that goes on there. For a preview of the treasure you might find click here to read Kirsty Surgey's article...
We're also supporting the Remember the Reformation project. Take a peek at objects from our collection, including a slashed missal and Anthony Babington's rosary.
Is the collection finished?
We are still collecting and new objects are added to the collection every year. Unfortunately we cannot take everything, and so we work to our Collections Development Policy.
If you think you have something that tells the story of York Minster we would love to hear from you. Please contact Vicky Harrison at firstname.lastname@example.org
