Formed in 1965 to raise funds for the York Minster Appeal, the Chapter House Choir continues to build on its reputation as one of the North of England’s foremost chamber choirs, under the leadership of Musical Director Benjamin Morris.

This concert offers a rare opportunity to hear Brahms’s own arrangement of his Requiem with piano duet accompaniment, revealing the work in a new light – more intimate and transparent, revealing a wider variety of choral timbres and textures. Celebrated singers Marcus Farnsworth and Susan Young join the Chapter House Choir and pianists Eleanor Kornas and Polly Sharpe in the contemplative acoustic of the Minster’s Quire, for what promises to be an intimate but emotionally powerful performance.

This concert will also include the world premiere of a piece by award-winning emerging composer Lillie Harris, written especially for this performance.

The Chapter of York is selling tickets for this event in its capacity as an agent for the Chapter House Choir.
