Traditional service where families and children are particularly welcome. Doors open at 11am and the service lasts around 45 minutes.
The second of two services consisting of nine special readings, carols sung by the York Minster Choir and hymns for everyone to join in. A traditional Christmas celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The first Nine Lessons and Carols service takes place on 23 December at 4pm.
Doors open at 2pm, please be seated by 3.30pm
Please note the Nine Lessons and Carols services are very popular so please arrive in plenty of time. Seats are on a first come first-served basis and we ask that groups enter the building at the same time if they wish to be seated together. Members of the congregation may not reserve seats for people not yet inside the building as a matter of fairness to others and security.
Traditional ‘Midnight Mass’ with music from the St William’s Singers and York Young Soloists.
