Double Consecration: The Bishop of Birkenhead and the Bishop of Stockport

The Venerable Julie Conalty, currently Archdeacon of Tonbridge, will be consecrated as the Bishop of Birkenhead and the Reverend Canon Sam Corley, currently Rector of Leeds, will be consecrated as the Bishop of Stockport at a service at York Minster. The new bishops will serve the Church and the communities of the Diocese of Chester.

The Archbishop of York, The Most Reverend Stephen Cottrell, will preside at a double consecration service and he will be assisted by by the Bishop of Newcastle, Christine Hardman and the Bishop of Durham, Paul Butler.

The consecration service will take place in the context of the Eucharist and will include readings, prayers, music and a sermon delivered by The Reverend Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy.
