Lent, Holy Week and Easter lie at the heart of the Christian faith. Share this time together as our vast sacred spaces are brought to life with the glory of seasonal worship and music.
For Christians, Easter Day is the most important day of all and lies at the very heart of our faith. It celebrates the fact that after the death of Jesus on the cross on Good Friday, women came to the tomb in the early hours of the morning to find it empty.
Gradually the realisation dawned on them, not least through subsequent appearances of the risen Christ, that God had raised Jesus from the dead.
Today is one of great joy as we celebrate the truth that nothing, not even death itself, can separate us from the love of God in Christ. Everyone is invited to take part in services and enjoy the glorious spaces of York Minster free of charge.
