People We Love: In partnership with York Mediale

An invisible transaction of love

Beautiful, moving and timely, People We Love explores the invisible transaction between a person and a piece of art and that emotion which bonds us all. Love.

Created by York-based KMA, the installation is returning to York Minster after its world premiere at the cathedral as part of York Mediale 2020 was cut short due to the national lockdown last November.

The digital art project will be positioned in the cathedral’s Nave to create a temporary ‘congregation’. Five, floor mounted, high definition screens will be exquisitely lit and show a portrait of a York citizen. Each person is gazing at a picture of someone they love. A picture you never see. Feel each unspoken story as the faces tell the tale of a person they love.

People We Love will run from Saturday 16 October to Thursday 11 November during normal visiting times and entry is included with a standard admission ticket, which is free for York residents.

You can plan your visit and find our opening times here.
