The Ebor Lectures 2020

2020 Vision(s): Sharpening our Focus

Scroll to explore

The Ebor Lectures in Theology and Public Life are a series of lectures, established in 2006 in York (Ebor is the Latin name for York), to promote a conversation between theology and public issues.

The theme for the 14th series this year is 2020 Visions(s): Sharpening our Focus. Sadly the events which had been planned have all been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but in place of the regular lectures the Ebor Lectures Committee is inviting people from all walks of life to reflect on how the world looks – or could look – through the lens of the coronavirus.

The series of short video reflections are available via its website and YouTube channel, and the committee it is inviting members of the public to get involved and submit their own short reflection. Full details of how to take part are available here.

York Minster is a partner and co-sponsor of the annual series of lectures.
