Scroll to explore

A short vigil will be held in York Minster to mark the first anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

Organised in partnership with local charity York City of Sanctuary,  the vigil will include readings, prayers, music and reflections from the Ukrainian Community in York as we continue to hold in our hearts the suffering of all those affected by the war. York Minster will also be observing the National Moment of Silence to mark one year of the Russian invasion of Ukraine at 11.00am.

The vigil for Ukraine will take place in the cathedral’s nave starting at 12 noon and will last around an hour.

All are welcome, no booking required.
