Welcome to the York Minster website

As the new Dean of York, it is my privilege to invite you to come and share in the life of our cathedral church this Advent and Christmas, as we prepare to celebrate once again the coming of Christ into the world.  You can hear the Good News and expressions of faith in our daily acts of worship and prayer.

Festive music events such as our much-loved, Christmas Carol Concerts, will run throughout the season. The York Minster Christmas Tree Festival returns for a second year with trees decorated by local organisations, schools and charities on display in the Chapter House and the Lady Chapel.

Worship for Christmas Week will include traditional services such as Nine Lessons and Carols, the Crib Service and our services for Christmas Day.  All of our Advent and Christmas services, concerts and events can be found on this website.

York Minster is here to welcome everyone to discover God’s love.  I hope that you will be able to visit us and worship with us in person or through our live-streamed services. With every seasonal blessing.
