Dragon Quest Trail
Legendary knight, St George, needs your help to find all the dragons in York Minster! Follow the clues and complete your noble quest to discover more about these fascinating fiery creatures that decorate the building. Collect a free trail from our welcome desks or download from our website.
Grab a Little Explorer Backpack
Packed with gadgets including a map, binoculars, and a magnifying glass, our backpacks are perfect for helping little adventurers explore the medieval Minster.
The backpacks are available daily and are free to borrow with general admission on a first come, first served basis.
Get crafty in Dean’s Park – selected Thursdays and Fridays throughout the holidays from 10.00am – 3.00pm
Get hands-on with craft activities in our Summer Tent on selected Thursdays and Fridays during the summer holidays (28 July – 2 September) in Dean’s Park. There will be a different activity each week inspired by the medieval Minster and celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The activities are:

York Bird of Prey Centre (free) – Thursdays and Fridays from 28 July – 2 September
The York Bird of Prey Centre from Huby will join us in Dean’s Park to share and show off the wonderful variety of birds they care for. Drop in throughout the day for free educational talks and demonstrations.
