It takes a multidisciplinary team of skilled heritage craftspeople and experts in their field to maintain and care for the ongoing cycle of repair, restoration, conservation and development of York Minster, its ancient buildings, and monuments. Our Centre of Excellence houses the complete range of craft and trade skills that are vital to achieve this. York Minster has heavily invested in new facilities and technology to support the essential work of caring for the Minster, responding to innovations and modern processes such as digital technology, 3D scanning, Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D printing and stone cutting technology.  This is an incredibly exciting time for us and if successful, you will be part of an ambitious vision that will present huge opportunities.

The Stone Saw Operator will be responsible for the selection and cutting of stone types for the cathedral, wider precinct, and external commercial work through operation of the stone saw and other stone-cutting technology. The successful candidate will have experience of operating and maintaining stone saws, successfully delivering projects, and will have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
