Independent Safeguarding Audit of York Minster – have your say!

Visit: Church of England – York – Ineqe Safeguarding Group

At the Minster, we are constantly striving to promote a safer church and we periodically take part in reviews and audits so we can gain external advice on how best to make progress.

INEQE Safeguarding Group, who have been commissioned by the Archbishop’s Council will carry out the next round of independent external audits of Church of England dioceses and cathedrals, visiting the Minster in early March 2025 to conduct a full review of our practices.

As part of this process, INEQE are really keen to capture your feedback by completing an online survey. You can find out more by visiting: Church of England – York – Ineqe Safeguarding Group.

Select the survey that best matches your role or relationship with York Minster – make sure you select the “cathedral” version where there is a choice. There are also surveys for children and young people (under 18 years of age) and for those who are victims or survivors of abuse in a church setting.

The link will also offer you sources of support should any of the information raise any issues or concerns for you. You can, of course, speak with Dee Cooley – see details on our Safeguarding page.

The deadline for completing the survey is 11.30am on 3 January 2025.

The survey is entirely anonymous, and York Minster will not get information about the contents.
