York Minster is one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals – an active place of worship, visitor attraction, accredited museum, library and archive, as well as a Centre of Excellence for Heritage crafts. Our work is carried out by a 200-strong team of talented and dedicated staff members whose roles are as broad ranging as clergy, music, strategic planning, stonemasonry, finance, HR, and more. We are also supported by the work of over 400 committed volunteers, who enhance the Minster experience for our worship and visitor communities alike.

Our dynamic and professional People team works across all teams within the organisation, providing best-in-class advice and support to managers and driving forward initiatives that make this a great place to work and volunteer. With ambitious strategic plan to drive the organisation forwards to 2030, this is an opportunity to make a difference to a unique heritage organisation that means so much to so many.

As a key player in our People team, the successful applicant will provide sound HR advice and support to assigned staff teams within the organisation, as well as working closely with the Director of People, Senior Executive Team (SET) members and other managers and team members to deliver key projects and initiatives that support the organisation’s People strategy.
