For Christians, marriage is an invitation to share life together in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. It is based upon a solemn, public and life-long covenant, declared and celebrated in the presence of God and before witnesses.

If, after reading our policy or speaking with us, it is not possible for you to be married at the Minster you may like to visit The Church of England’s wedding website, where you can find out which parish you live in, the name of your parish church and contact details for your parish priest. It also includes details of other churches you may be eligible to marry in.
