Arguably the greatest German composer prior to Bach, Heinrich Schütz was one of the pioneers of the German Baroque in the 17th Century.
In this concert, the Chapter House Choir will mark the season of Passiontide with a performance of Schütz’s a cappella St John Passion. The concert will also include the world premiere of Olivia Sparkhall’s Crucifixus, alongside Frank Martin’s evocative Mass for Double Choir and Roxanna Panufnik’s Deus, Deus meus.
