VisitYork Minster’s popular Christmas Carol Concerts return offering the perfect start to the festive season.
The Choir of York Minster, one of the UK’s leading cathedral choirs, will perform traditional and much-loved Christmas music, with seasonal readings from special guest Sue Devaney and the chance for the audience to join in with carols.
The concerts take place in the beautiful setting of York Minster’s awe-inspiring Nave and include music by the Yorkshire Volunteer Band. Both concerts will start at 7pm, and will take place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 December.

Tickets priced between £15 – £40 are available via our Box Office or by calling our Bookings Team on 01904 557200. Children over the age of two need their own seat.

Sue Devaney
TV favourite Sue Devaney is best known for playing the role of Debbie Webster in Coronation Street, a role she created in 1984 and reprised in 2020.

Sue has done many radio plays and voice-overs including channel 5’s hilarious Hot Tub Britain. She is a comedy writer/performer and always belts out a tune or two when it’s asked of her!
Since Sue’s last appearance at York Minster she has got married, performed her one woman show called “Didn’t You Used to be somebody.” about addiction, obsession and hope at Home Theatre in Manchester, and she is still loving playing Debbie Webster in Coronation Street. She is thrilled to be asked to do a reading at York Minster. York means a lot to her. It’s where her husbands from!
