After 5 months of work, our expert team of craftspeople have completed the new Quire Ramp. This is the most significant building project to take place inside York Minster in over a century, and its completion reflects our continued commitment to accessibility, heritage, and excellence, ensuring that York Minster can be enjoyed by everyone, both now and for generations to come.
Please join us for a special service of Choral Evensong on Thursday 18 June at 5.30pm, attended by the Archbishop of York, who will bless the ramp, thank the craftspeople who constructed it and lead us in shared worship. This service will also be attended by members of the College of Canons, Court of Benefactors and trustees of the York Minster Fund.
All are welcome; no tickets or pre-booking are required.
The creation of the new ramp is made possible through the generosity of the principal donor, the Friends of York Minster, as well as the Mark Benevolent Fund and Benefact Trust.
