York Minster sits at the heart of the city of York.
We are nestled within the city walls and well sign-posted throughout the city. As a Eco-Gold Church we would encourage as many of our visitors as are able to walk, cycle or use public transport when they visit.
There are a number of left luggage facilities in the city including Yorbag. Wheeled bags, and bags larger than hand luggage cannot be brought inside York Minster.
York is a pedestrian friendly city, with many parts of the city centre closed to motor vehicles during the day.
There is pavement access from the surrounding streets to the Minster, which are wide enough to accommodate mobility vehicles and push chairs. Some streets surrounding the Minster are cobbled with uneven surfaces, alternative routes are available to avoid these.
