Our qualified voluntary guides will take you through the entire cathedral, pointing out its hidden treasures and stunning stained glass, giving you an informative and interesting look at its amazing history and life.
Our guided tours are perfect for group travel, families or anyone wanting to learn more about this historical building and are available at 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm, from Monday to Saturday. Tours of York Minster are approximately one hour, and are included in the cost of admission.

Spotlight on the Great East Window
The Great East Window at York Minster is the largest single expanse of medieval stained glass in Britain and one of the most remarkable treasures of the cathedral.
Join a short talk of 20 minutes by one of our specialist guides and hear how the window depicts the greatest story ever told from the creation of Heaven and Earth to the Last Judgement.
These tours take place every Monday and Friday at 2.00pm and will commence from under the Great East Window (inside). Please ask a member of our welcome team regarding the tours during your visit for any further information.
